Memories and update info!

Now I decided to reformat my computer and put xp on...and do you think I can access my blog at all NO!!. So I have to type this on the laptop lol.

Firstly This is a poem for you Heather that you may wish to use for your playgroup kiddies. I am doing it tommrow/Friday with my lil ones as a gift for mothers day :)

Memories

There used to be so many of
my fingerprints to see,
on windows, furniture and walls,
from sticky, grubby me.

But, if you stop and think awhile,
you'll see im growing fast.
Those little handprints disappear,
you cant bring back whats passed.

So here's a small reminder,
to keep, not wipe away
of tiny hands and how they looked,
to make you smile some day.

:) At the bottom of the page you of course put the kiddies handprints.

Well not much as happend as usual. I did get in touch with the mum of that lil boy at my old work who had that lump?? well she said no surgery yet as apparently it has gone smaller and not bigger so the doc wants to see what happens like if it will completely go before they decide to go that step further. So thats a good thing to hear. Im now in the process of trying to figure out bebo so i can see some photos that she has put up of him and vid clips , cant wait hes so cute!

Tommorw my old school mate is ment to be flying out to Aussie (melbourne) . She has had enough of the place and wants to back pack around aussie since she has not seen much of it before venturing back off to london. Well she was ment to be seeing us tonight. but as usual(shes a bit slack hehe) have heard nothing which is a shame if i dont get to see her as i think her flight if i remember was early morn. Will be so gutted cause i didnt take photos of her like i planned to when i saw her bout a month back :(

Tonight is a slab up not very good dinner, sausage rolls lol. Since i thought i may see my friend.
Cant wait to the end of the week as so far it has been mad. have had kiddies that have had temps and ear infections, are grumpy and all that. driven me nuts a bit lol.
Totally exhausted as usual, and this weekend i should catch up with a couple of friends, but like to be honest ive been too tired lately to even want to do anything which sucks.

ok guess ill go and sort out dinner.

Hey, mind if I ask a random question? How are you finding your work with kindergarten kids? And how did you get your job? I'm job hunting at the moment, and as a result I've been asking people about their jobs :P

~~no probs. I work in a childcare centre (not kindy hehe they are differnt)
I find my job very rewarding as kids all the time are doing and learning differnt things and developing in areas. also find it challenging too both physically and mentally lol.i found my job on the education website

Aww thanks for the poem...just a touch too late lol. We did crafts this morning for mother's day. Here is what we used:

A piece of me I give to you.
I painted this flower to say "I love you."
The heart is you.
The hand is me.
To show we are friends-
The best there can be.
I hope you will save it
And look back someday
At the flower we shared
On your special day.

Which I used because it isnt specifically for mums so it can go to grannys etc... I printed that out and cut it into a small shape for the top of some A4, then below it I printed out some big love hearts (about the size of a kiddie hand). You cut out a stem with leaves, and on the top where the flower would be we put the heart, then the kids put their hand paint over the top of the heart. It came out really cute.

We've also done this one during term one:

Sometimes you get discouraged,
because I am so small
I'm always leaving fingerprints on furniture and walls.
But every day
I'm getting big
and soon I'll be so tall
and all my little fingers
will be so hard to recall.
So here's a little handprint
you'll remember with a smile
on Valentine's Day 2007
when I was just a child.

What is the difference between the two? I know there's a difference between kindy and Montessori. But I guess a child care centre is like creche?

~~Heather, aww thats ok maybe you could use it another time for your crafts. Thanks for sharing your ideas too. The mothers day thing you did sounds reallly cute and cool.
~~Krissi, yeh we are kinda like creche except in the sense creche there is no set time you take you kid whenever. for example like the creches at the gym ya just drop ya kid off for like an hour. with us you have to pay for full time and that is like 6hrs a day but its up to the parents whether there child goes or not lke thy can have a day off if want. in my old job there was part time too jst depends on the centre my boss doesnt do it.
also activities are planned that are educationally and develops them and thy have mat tims etc ready for school, school time too. with kindy its more like they can do what they want and maybe have mat time for story etc from what i understand anyway not totally sure

Doesnt it sorta go:

playcentre: free play one morning/afternoon a week and parents must stay with children. Cheap in cost.

Kindy: drop children off for half days in preparation for going to school (usually starting at age 3-4). Often fairly cheap as govt supported.

Creche: childcare provided by organisations so you can use their facilities (eg gyms etc)

Daycare: paid childcare for week days (for any preschool age) that starts early in the day so it allows parents to head off to work. Children are booked in for set day/days per week and must pay whether children there or not. Often quite well structured days for the kidlets, set child-adult ratios, often provide the meals for the kids.

~~heather yeh our work is called a childcare centre we run like daycare but cater from birth to 5years! and not all give meals. we do though some places have to bring their own lunch!
Thanks for that chickie :)
